As we have had some teams drop out of the vet’s division, we can now complete the tournament in one day. I know this suits a lot of teams that might have otherwise struggled to make flights on Sunday due to timings etc.

The games will all be 11 minutes straight except for the Men’s & Women’s cup finals which will be 2 x 11 minutes. The team on the left of the schedule will kick off from the left side of the stadium side of the pitch. Please make sure your team is ready to kick off on time. The schedule is attached, as are the groups.

The monsoon rains have almost finished, and we are going into the cool season. It will still be hot during the day so make sure to keep rehydrated. There will be a couple of large eskies with cold water and ice and electrolyte powders will be available at the official’s tent.

The Bangkok Chiang Mai Hospital is providing a medical team for the day, and an ambulance will be on standby. They will provide basic treatment at stadium free of charge, but any hospital requirements will be charged for, so please make sure that all your players have adequate medical insurance to cover any serious injuries.

Really Good Pasta will have a tent at the stadium selling their fare and a %% of sales will be donated to the Lanna Rugby Youth Development Program.

There will be other F & B stalls but due to Thai alcohol restrictions within municipal stadiums we are not allowed sell beer. Soft drinks and smoothies will be available for sale.

The stadium is a smoke/Vape free zone so please advise any smokers that they can smoke by the toilet area or the car park but not within the stadium boundaries. Please dispose of your butt ends appropriately.

We ask teams to stay back from the touchline and stand on the running track whilst cheering on your mates. This allows the officials to do their job easier. Once your game is finished please remove all water bottles and any rubbish from the area and put in the trash.

Team registration is being held at the Moat House near Tapea gate on Friday evening. https://maps.app.goo.gl/tHCDC9qWAgkougiG9

The Official party on Saturday is also at the Moat House. Please come wearing tour kit as there will be a tournament trophy for the team kit that is deemed the best. There will also be the boat race challenge as well as yard of ale and the boot. A % of the proceeds from the bar over the 2 days is being donated to the Lanna Youth development program. There will also be a couple of 50-50 raffles going on for the same reason so buy tickets for a good cause and winners can top up the team kitty along the way!

As Sunday is a free day, we will be hosting, with the Lanna Rugby Club youth development program, a rugby camp at the Suthep stadium with upwards of 100 kids. Any coaches or players that want to help out are welcome to join in the fun. 10am till 2pm+. Plan is skills and technique in the morning then have some games to finish off in the afternoon. There will be kids of all ages both boys and girls.

If you have any questions on the Lanna Rugby kids development program please mail Matt Hirst, mhirstgshs@gmail.com or Thomas Pouplin, thomas.pouplin@yahoo.fr
